In order to create something which delivered a subtle message I have edited my design idea and concept slightly. Ii thin the idea i have previously was a little to defined and didn't really link to the song unless the audience really knew the lyrics. Therefore i have changed the concept slightly. Instead of it being based on a lyric from the song the Album artwork will now be based on the title of the song instead. I have represent the idea of divorce with two simple rings, showing the two individuals involved in this agreement, I wanted to show how they were separating be placing lines in-between the two circles showing that they are going different ways.
This is the result after I used an effect in illustrator, all of the rectangles which used to represent the skyline have been turned into this simple texture.
This is what the design would of looked like if I had stuck with the old concept, However I think the new one works more effectively, and communicate the song and Artist better.
