The Brief
Design a cover for the song Grounds for Divorce by Elbow, the song and the Name of the Artists must be kept a secret. The Piece must be concept driven and show the Music through the design.Considerations
The Actual Name of the song and the Artist must not be Written or printed on the art work at all.
"700 sleeves will be exhibited Downstairs At Mother in London on April 12th & 13th, then on Record Store Day - 19th - you can get your hands on one, or more, for £45 apiece. You don’t know who created the sleeve, or even which song it’s for until you have parted with your cash – the secret lies within.
This year we are introducing a maximum of 5 sleeves per transaction to give more people the chance to own a Secret 7".
Each day we will open from 10am - 6pm, and it's free to view.
Downstairs At Mother, 10 Redchurch St, London, E2 7DD."
Concept/Proposition
I want my Design for the Cover to be subtle in colour, and concept driven. It will be based on the idea of separation of elements representing the title of the Song 'Grounds for Divorce
Background.
'We take 7 tracks from 7 of the best-known musicians around and press each one 100 times to 7" vinyl. We then invite creatives from around the world to interpret the tracks in their own style, resulting in a one-of-a-kind sleeve for every 7”. The creatives are made up of famous names through to gems we unearth through artwork submitted to us here on our website.'
